This is a wakeup call for those who believe standardising everthing particularly relating to residential conveyancing and employing staff who are clueless relating to law and procedure for a cut throat fixed fee in the long term will not work. Eventually experienced solicitors will need to undetake the work because they have been "around the block" for decades and can recognise problems which can be dealt with and thus avoid potential negligence claims. Such solicitors will need salaries in line with other professionals which means charges will need to be doubled or more to maintain levels of professionalism.
