Some may believe that their faith is as difficult to change as their ethnicity but criticism can and has changed religions in the past. Indeed the more atrophied a religion becomes the more anachronistic it will seem.
If you really care about your religion the more you will take criticism on board to examine it for merit and thus help ensure the long term future of your beliefs.
Ideas, however sacred, should always be subject to examination so that they evove in order to remain relevant.
