I agree Lawrence that the abolition of the HRA should not be viewed as a right/left argument. My opinion is that the HRA has in itself become a straightjacket for the judges. They have to allow its provisions however ridiculous, and thater have been some ridiculous ones, the outcome. Terrorists allowed to stay here and live off our benefits. Long drawn out legal battles, going all the way to ECHR, to get rid of Abu Hanza, etc, etc.

And on the other hand there seems to be nothing we can do about our citizens/nationals trafficked through our sovereign territory, languishing in Guantanamo on Sea and regularly tortured by our allies the USA.
