Oh dear me. This is exactly what I was saying in connection with that other article here about the 'trip advisor' style website for solicitors. The facts are quite simple:
1. People lie in surveys. Election showed that. My firm stopped sending such tosh to clients when a HNWC said it made him sad and depressed that a well established firm needed to engage in such time wasting. Satisfaction surveys are hamster bedding at best.
2. Word of mouth is the ONLY recommendation that matters. Once a client,do the job right and they will come back again and again across the generations and even the North South divide.
3. Good work good fees. End of. If a client starts negotiating and whining in the first instruction about costs? Bin em now. Sack the client as they will bring only troubles. Cheap skates and bargain hunters are the WORST clients. I once knew a city trader use Countrywide instead of my top 100 firm.
These polls are self justifying exercises in time wasting. Sorry guys but that's how it is.
