Emperor's new clothes... Firms only engage in time wasting surveys and the equally futile review of them because as a profession we have been hoodwinked into thinking it's the right thing to do and it's what clients want. It's not unlike the childish craze for open plan offices that swept over from the other side of the Atlantic. Now everybody is doing it. Thank God for listed buildings. At least we can hear our clients on the phone.
Try this. Send one survey to one favourite client and you will have a 100% satisfaction! There we go.
As for staff morale I find decent pay and benefits, flexible hours works best. Oh and by the way it's not uncommon for our plot sales girls to get a bottle of vino each from house builders each phase and the number of thank you cards and flowers our resi conveyancers get is amazing. That's the only survey you need.
