Carlton, you have clearly been a gaseous life form throughout your presence on this thread. We've discovered in you a new strain of bilge-spilling solicitor-troll!

5 seconds of Googling have revealed that you are in no position to make judgments about legal aid practice, given that you have absolutely no involvement in that field. Also, I doubt that your 5-bedroom detached farmhouse in Suffolk has much to do with benevolent pro bono work...

Back to real life: I agree with the others that suggest that HMCTS should take charge of legal aid and simplify the rules applying to each type of applicant. There is no reason to continue leaving it in the hands of the LAA, who more often than not, make the process more time-consuming and onerous by delay and unnecessary niggling over applications.
