I have said several times to my Bank Manager that if he would only agree to advance me £2m I could stick together about 10 good local small firms and produce a highly competitive South Coast regional practice. He thinks I am joking. (Note to self - find new Bank Manager.)
This is not rocket science if you have the financial backing. It is about knowing (and trusting) the people you are dealing with.
If we are a profession (and I have expressed doubts on that many times in this and other forums) then we are a disconnected one. High Street Lawyers should be working together for the good of the profession not skulking in corners refusing to talk and trying to undercut each other on price.
This is a 'service' industry.
