If partners of pregnant women were true partners and stood up to the plate and equally shared the responsibility of raising children with women, then this would be less of a gender issue. It's sad that even in this day and age, women are expected bare most, if not all, of the the burden of child rearing by either leaving/stalling their careers, or juggling careers and children and living with the guilt. Society needs to change, not just the legal profession. I'm not just pointing the finger at men here, women are as much to blame as men for perpetuating these outdated expectations.
