A fledgling 'City Fat Cat' will have neither interest nor any effort if 'told' to do pro-bono for housing problem sufferers, illegal immigrants, asylum seekers, discriminated against complainants, lots more? As Anon at 11.27am suggested, they would be worse than no advice at all. One despairs of the political so-called leaders of our legal system and is saddened by the quiescent silence from Chancery Lane? They will doubtless say they are negotiating hard etc. In the fabled long grass?

In my ancient experience, LA worked perfectly well on Tyneside in the 60' and 70s. Yes, some ought not to have had it but the cases got DEALT WITH. Not this long drawn out thrashing about (the real phrase might not pass the censor!) and silly ranting PC tripe.

May I respectfully (and we know what that means?) suggest to their High and Mightinesses that they award LA on a one page means test simply to get things done. Go for claw-back later, just do it more efficiently that non paid fines.

Otherwise, the Government are doing to the Legal System and the Rule of Law what G Brown did to the Pensions industry! However, while s few may offer G Brown the benefit of the doubt as to whether he understood what he was up to, the present lot are wilful with no mitigation. M'Lud.
