This article doesn't really paint a true picture of what is happening in the Family Courts as no mention has been made of Litigants in Persons, Fee-paying Mackenzie friends, online legal advice services, Direct Access Barristers- all options for those who are going to Court. No mention made of LiPs clogging up Family Courts and cases needing more time due to DJ having to explain the process to LiPs. More assaults in Court as LiPs more emotional during the proceedings so less able to look at case objectively. No mention that cuts inLegal Aid have actually contributed to increased backlog in Family Courts because of above. To write about 'giving up on courts' may be true for some but hardly painting a full picture, is it?
