That is because it is not proportionate or cost effective to do so. Wait until the first arguments arise suggesting that an individual should have approached a solicitor first as it is more cost effective than paying a barrister £300 per hour throughout rather than a grade C/D at £120-£150 for 50%of the case. Bang goes your business model.

Again, I qualify my remarks by saying that I am not worried by direct access and I welcome the competition. My learnered friends will soon get frustrated with what Solicitors deal with daily.
