Interesting post, Anon 12.41 and yes, quite disgraceful.

By way of contrast I was admitted to Friedrichshafen's klinnikum at 8.00 p m on Sunday 7 June. By 10.00 p m they had given me an ultrasound, x-ray and scan and by midnight I was on the operating table attended by two surgeons, two anaesthetists and two nurses. And earlier that day I had no idea I was seriously ill. And I didn't until I was told that they estimated I had only three days to live without the operation. I was trying to text my two children to say where I was and why and was told "Herr Crawford, you do not have the time to text!".
