It is easy to get excited that this story is about lawyers supporting an underdog to 'stick it to the Man'. In fact this story is depressing for several reasons:
1. An issue which affects many and the whole basis of an industry, has been rolling on for many years with no definitive answer. This is a failing of the system.
2. The reason it hasn't been brought before is because even now the case can only be brought with lawyers acting pro bono and by begging for the court fee. This is another failing of the system. It is precisely what many recent stories have been protesting about.
3. Looking out over our car park at the moment, there are several cars which should not be there. This often prevents me, my staff and clients from getting in, and sometimes even out. There needs to be an effective way of enforcing who can and cannot park on private land, and it needs to be sufficiently effective and severe to stop people taking the proverbial.
