Things like this always look good to people who've never had to work like that themselves.

I used to work for a volume outfit that didn't have the space or the staff to support me (despite promising me my own room and dedicated assistant in the interview). So every morning I'd get into work not having a clue where I was going until a staff absence revealed a work desk for the day.

I bounced around the office for a month never working at the same desk for more than a day. Of course this also meant that I was never seated next to the same people for more than a day, so every day I'd get a new colleague on the desk next to me who would want to chat with their new neighbour. So in essence every day was like my first day and all the usual timewasting pleasantries that entailed, while also trying to get through a workload so large that it was impossible to complete everything I needed to in a day anyway.

I lasted a month before walking out. If this is the future of the profession I think I'd rather give up my practising certificate and do something else than work like that again, and I'm daft enough to actually really enjoy being a solicitor.
