Thanks for that, Martin. I shall see if I can incorporate Wissembourg, which I have never visited, into my itinerary. Not many people know that the concept of Germany is such a recent one. Zola wrote about the chaos of this war in his novel The Debacle. La route des vins of Alsace is certainly worth a return visit.
