I note that the MOJ suggest 95% of citizens will be able to reach their required court within one hour by car . Putting aside the obvious point that a significant number do not have a car ,I wonder on what basis this assertion is made ?
In the good old days ,when we were paid for travelling time to court ,my claim for 24 minutes travelling was reduced to 6 minutes. When I questioned this I was told that Google or similar showed that as the travelling time . I pointed out that firstly to achieve that time I would have to break the speed limit and secondly that the route contained 15 sets of traffic lights of one type or another. My original claim was then authorised.
Perhaps the MOJ might enlighten us as to their evidential source
