Anon 1.38 I too look at that and wonder how it is calculated. I have asked on here time and time again how they reach that sum, who is doing the work, what is his hourly rate, etc, etc, the sort of thing we would automatically have to divulge on a taxation, sorry is that now called a costs assessment (I always wondered what 'tax' had to do with it). But do I get reply? Of course not! The Establishment has to look after itself and no 113 with its subsidised restaurant and other facilities has to be funded by someone and those who appear before the SDT make an easy target. This is, of course, why they leave no space for comment as otherwise they would get plenty on this topic.

I also look at the date of admission and wonder how someone who has been in practice for over 40 years ends up there. My suspicion is that in general terms it is the level of bureaucracy we now have to deal with. Specifically PII premium rates and the cost of run-off cover is for some unaffordable so they cannot even retire. That's all down to s.39 SA 1974, of course.
