Anonymous 26 August 2015 02:22 pm: It's actually my wife who is the Claimant, but I will be her Lay Representative at the hearing. I do happen to have some experience of this, having represented people at over 50 small claims hearings, most notably Mr Beavis in the much publicised original Parking Eye v Beavis case, now elevated to the Supreme Court.

But the issue seems to be, that the MoJ brought in the Portal for PI claims, theoretically to streamline the process, but it seems to have the opposite effect. It's also only available to Solicitors with a current certificate, and it seems to me that most of them are only interested in working on cases where the claim is worth £10,000+, which is well above the figure we were seeking.
