I find it unacceptable that solicitors' comment such as - flights are delayed, live with it - and comments like the airlines will hike prices. If an organisation contracts to provide a service and delays provision, then that's worthy of compensating the other party. Any sensible and competent solicitor will sympathise with such a claimant, and will warn such an organisation of the risk and cost of delay. And in this situation European law provides the penalty because defaulting airlines will sidestep responsibility, as they do. Those comments ignore the terrible effect airline delay can have on passengers and the compensation provided by EU 261 is inadequate in many cases to cover the loss incurred. Solicitors who cannot restrain themselves from such incompetent comments would do be better to remain silent. That's my view and I'm entitled to say so!
