I am not sure any member of the legal profession could credibly disagree with what the Bar Council has said here.

I am a Solicitor and Partner in private practice with a full-service but commercially focused firm. Even from that perspective I see we are already much too far down a path which would deny justice to the many.

It is high time a line was drawn beyond which we cannot conscionably allow Mr Gove to tread without revolting in droves. If Lord Falconer would care to help draw that line and to work towards pushing it back, I for one will stand with him.
