Anon at 12.32 here. You'll be please to know there is a firm in this part of the world paying in excess of £250 as a referral fee on a case I was recently party to, on a sale price of just over £100k. Not only is this unprofitable suicide (that has been on the go for donkey's years) but it fuels expectation. Quite a big firm locally too and not the sort of behaviour you would expect from a firm that historically has been very go ahead.

Solicitors are great at putting the boot into each other though. Hence why we never get anywhere and those who are not down trodden conveyancers simply arrogantly laugh at our gentlemanly stupidity.

I would be driving a bloody horse and carriage through the CML for a start !!
