This problem isn't restricted to the bar although I note your speak from experience! I left the profession for the reasons you have stated to a job which professed to be more flexible! Ultimately my current employer has changed my terms and conditions to less appropriate for working parents failing to allow me to drop off or pick up from school. The issue is global and needs to be addressed at a higher level! More needs to be done to support working parents of both genders.
