It's a question of winning over hearts and minds isn't it? Cold calling / texting is playing right into the hands of the insurers and the governments collusion with them.

People are unhappy with receiving texts and calls out of the blue. Yes I appreciate that some may have 'opted in' (i.e didn't tick or untick a tiny box as appropriate) - and who can blame them when they fall the ABI propaganda that PI lawyers are the reason why their insurance premiums are increased or that millions of pounds are going to the undeserving or fraudulent.

They aren't going to go out of their way to consider the contradiction of insurers owning law firms yet moaning about legal fees, or that the greatest beneficiaries of referral fees were insurance companies themselves. What they will consider is the inconvenience of spam calls/text telling them that they have an accident and have £xxxx set aside for them, when they haven't had an accident!

Any firm that takes clients from a CMC without asking the client how their details were obtained, or does so knowing that they were text/called out of the blue by one of these operators, only has themselves to blame when the next set of cuts to the detriment of claimants is passed and the only criticism from the public is that the cuts didn't go far enough!
