I've only ever done one case against a LiP. In fact, I was MF-ing for a LiP v another LiP. Even with my involvement, the hearing took probably twice the length of time it would have done had I been against a solicitor. It was a straightforward strike out application and the evidence could not have been clearer, nor pointed one way any more emphatically. In fact, had my client/friend's oppo been correctly advised (or advised at all), they would never have been a hearing at all.

Maybe that case was the sole exception.
