Is it me, or was this not always the law? You are not liable outside the scope of your retainer and never have been. Litigant received advice from previous firm that settlement was inadequate, engages firm to correct drafting imperfections, which are duly corrected, and then tries to claim off 'execution only' adviser! An outrage! A compensation culture gone mad even trying to sue....
