I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT MS LANDSBERG HAD LIMITED HER RETAINER. I CAME TO HER AFTER ONLY A SINGLE ONE HOUR MEETING AT TILLEY & CO. A LIMITED RETAINER WAS CLAIMED BUT NOT TO ME AND NOWHERE IN WRITING. THE CONCEPT OF LIMITED RETAINER WAS STUMBLED UPON AS A SUITABLE DEFENCE. I WANTED LEGAL ADVICE."

I think most commenters here are commenting on the basis of the finding of fact made by the court. the court found that there was a limited retainer, and most of the comment shere are on the basis that where there is a limited retainer, it must be correct that the solicitor's liability is also limited.
Obviously you disagree with that fact-finding - if the Court had belived that the retainer was not limited then the outcome would have potentially been different.
Hwever, the reason we as lawyers are interested in the case is becuae it clarifies the situation where a retainer is limited.
