I wonder if the Government has considered how much in benefits lawyers have recovered on its behalf as a result of personal injury claims? Every P I claim is registered with the DWP and recoupable benefits recovered under the Social Security (Recovery of Benefits) Act 1997. It must amount to hundreds of millions of pounds. Why should the Government be at all interested in the bottom line of insurers. There is no compensation culture (they have been shown the stats time and time again). They simply will not pass any savings on to consumers. This is embarrassing.
