I predict massive challenges to this funded (hopefully) by TLS, Bar, CILEX, MASS and APIL.

My practice changes from tomorrow in PI, and I expect many others will adopt the same change too - I won't give a quarter, I'll keep correspondence to an absolute minimum, front end my litigation and run like the clappers to trial.

Quite how victims of accidents can be shut out altogether from claiming damages for injuries is absolutely beyond me. It flies in the face of natural justice.

There will be absolutely no savings from insurers, or a very small showing against massive profits to shareholders.

On the back of the abolition of legal aid, massive hikes in court fees and ridiculous cuts to Criminal funding and the reduction of the court system generally - even to the sale of local court buildings to the detriment of the public, it really is time now to stand and look at the ruins of our once infamous legal system.

We look back at the formation of the Magna Carta 800 years ago, and the development of a superb system, ruined in a few short years by a short sighted, cold hearted, imbecilic government.

What a desperately sad day.
