@Carol Gregorious

Do we seriously have to keep addressing this utter tripe?

"Anonymous" allows us to make our points without the risk of harm to our careers.

When you make a public comment on the internet under a real name that's it, it's out there, and it's archived by google and available to everyone now and in the future.

You're at risk of a client seeing it and deciding not to use you because they disagree, an employer deciding that your thoughts reflect badly on the firm, any organisation you might like to work with in the future doing a google search for you and deciding they didn't like your now years old opinion. Even the regulators like the SRA may decide to make a conduct issue out of something you've said.

Times change, society moves on, but your internet archived opinions will remain as a static reminder of what you thought at the time, available to everyone with access to google for the rest of your life. What's uncontroversial now might be very controversial in 20 or even 10 years.

SO WHY RISK IT?

The Gazette has rules, we stick to them, and we post anonymously. Decent discussion and everyone's protected.

Now stop whining.
