This is no surprise, given my terrible experiences of this firm. To my immense misfortune, I am using this dreadful establishment for a dispute. I have experienced unbelievable shoddy unprofessionalism and imcompetence that goes into malpractice. The arrogant prat who last spoke to me did so rudely and aggressively, presuming to take a view and tell me what to do when he did not even have the professionalism to read the file. That's right, a solicitor who had the cheek to advise without reading the client's file (and also the recklessness to speak to the lawyer on the other side and try to negotiate). And that is just one of the increasingly long list of grievances that I have had with them. I don't want to shift solicitors because it will make the other side smug that I am not happy with my pricey advisors, and because of the costs involved with getting a new firm to look at it all over again. If I go to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority or Ombudsman, I start up a new dispute in addition to my current one and I already have enough on my plate. I have already complained and it got me nowhere (whitewashed), and I don't want them to leave me even more high-and-dry by declining to act further if I complain yet again. Having incompetent and unreliable lawyers charging top dollar and being obnoxious on top of it is all is any consumer-with-an-existing dispute's nightmare.

I hope the regulatory authorities are reading this, and realise that they also need to look into the firm's professional standards. I cannot be the only one to be horrified at what I have experienced with Slater & Gordon, and I hope that others will also speak out even if we have to do it annonymously.
