David, you refer to the costs of practise. I have now retired but have a friend who is a young, fairly recently qualified solicitor. I will be surprised if she is paid more than £28K p.a. yet she is expected to gross £200K p.a. and so are her colleagues.
I never grossed anything like £200K p.a. with my assistant, let alone on my own and I still managed to live, albeit not with gold plated cutlery etc.
I never felt the need to "borrow" from client account.
Where was I going wrong?
