Over time we have developed an effective and ethical system which, like the police, has developed to hold society its members and institutions to account. No-one likes being forced to admit they are in the wrong, but in an adversarial system 50% of those experiencing it will be in the wrong. Whilst we all hope this is the other side, if we are not getting some complaints we are not doing our job correctly.

Whether the rules are restrictive or not, generally the reason for them are the best interests of the client as decided by those familiar with the risks of the profession.
