It is unpalatable to both Left and Right that the liberal Left broadly got social policies right in the 60's and 70's but the free-market Right got the Economy broadly right. Read, for example, Andrew Marr's 'A History of Modern Britain.' Neither Left nor Right will accept this analysis. The so-called sexual rights of children was, however, a totally misguided social policy (to put it charitably) but that should not detract from the overall.

Today we live in dangerous times and those dangers are not only external. We need Liberty as much as ever.
