Anon and the " leaf from JFK", I pay 'my country', ie the self-interested and hypocritical politicians who mouth 'our' 'democratic' government, to do what I, if I am in the majority of the electorate, tell them to do. It is, of course, typical of the condescension of politicians to turn and tell us that instead we should do for free what THEY think is best at maintaining THEIR vision of what life should be like.
How strange to want people to take your money and do what THEY want with it.
