Residential conveyancing lends itself to the business process being 'mapped' because there are defined routes (with some variables) through sale, purchase and re-mortgage transactions - they are heavily 'process led'. Consequently, process led work lends itself to the development of computerised workflows to assist in the day to day conduct of matters.

Other kinds of legal work are less 'process led' e.g. commercial litigation; although there are elements of the process that can be mapped and consequently embodied in computer workflows.
