This is awful. At the same time they are supporting the MOJ in its plan to close courts and increase Court fees. There are plenty of people available who would accept 2/3 of the current pay to sit as high court judges and would jump at the chance. They would be good too. The judicial appointments commission should be abolished. What is needed is a career judiciary not taking high court judges from barristers' ranks. That would increase diversity.
