Before we come to the issue of "how much a High Court Judge at the Family Division" should be paid, the revolving door issue should be analyzed.
There are serious worries, and it seems completely wrong, that a judge is nominated and partially even possible that this juge is working as Deputy judge whilst he/she is working in parallel as barrister/solicitor.
A light should be put on the situation, that the finally nominated judge decides about cases of previous barrister colleagues whom this judges maybe even now meets privately and has them as pals.
Suppose a situation where one party is represented by a barrister (a profession where the judges have made money for 10-20 years) and the other party is presented as Litigant in Person (LIP) because this person cannot afford a Barrister or has serious worries about UK barristers because they dont care much about the client and the wishes in reference to the children).
Isn't it natural that this judge, not even knowing the barrister, will prefer the bartisters position as this judge has been a barrister before ?
