Monidipa - first of all many thanks for your sterling work during this process. You have been in the lead in many ways in getting the news out to those of us caught up in this fiasco.

I was in court today when I received an email from Andrew Keogh telling me that at long last the announcement had been made that this lunatic scheme had bit the dust. My case was called on moments later and I informed the mags of what had happened whilst we waited for my client to be brought up from the cells.

I can't say that they cheered but they were all delighted.

Now, let us take this forward. We must as practitioners insist that the Law Soc is not the body that the MOJ consults with when it comes to setting out the views of those members of the profession that work in this sector. The small and medium firms must take heart and organise themselves so that this is the last time that a minority (BFG looking at you right now) cannot run roughshod over the interests of the majority.

I notice that one conspicuous member of BFG is already on his soapbox agitating for changes to the allocation of duty slots. If you allow this to happen then this will be TT but in a different way. That is the new battle and all members of small and medium sized firms must be ready to take up the cudgels again and fight for their proper share of the market.
