Isn't that why the only justification in public international law for declaring a war is either self-defence or pursuant too a UN resolution, Anon 4.26? This is what made Blair's unilateral declaration without either justification was so wrong. And Goldsmith told him as much, until he changed his mind, or rather had his mind changed. Thereafter our soldiers were obeying orders in circumstances where to do otherwise would have been a court martial offence.

But were we not all hoodwinked into thinking otherwise about the lie of WMD? At least Robin Cook and Claire Short had the backbone to say otherwise.
