With v. O'Flanagan [ 1936] All E R springs immediately to mind.

But who in his right mind would purchase a law firm these days? I would not even accept one as a gift. It's a poisoned chalice. I know of one having been hawked around unable to find a purchaser. Mr. Kahn will live to regret this decision. Come to think of it it sounds as if he already does. Why not just set up on your own and wait for the opposition to retire and pick up the clients you want, instead of buying a whole load of these you don't, plus, possibly, a bunch of negligence claims?
