The hourly rate costs for many cases worth up to £50k will be far less (on DA) that the £18500 posited above.

I am dealing with a relatively straightforward prof neg claim worth about £200k and the claimant's costs in form H inclusive of counsel and dibs was a little over £65k (about 40k profit costs net of dibs and so on)

May claims valued at £50 k are not that complex, from a defendant perspective in many cases the fees above would be a boon to the claimant's solicitors.

I am not against the proposals for that reason: I am against them because they are bad in law and practice. Sir Rupert should in my view and with all due respect, go boil his head as this is a load of rot and piffle.
