Lord Jackson urged the govnt to make reform an immediate priority.That sounds about right.Forget about the shambles in our hospitals and schools forget about ensuring the sick and elderly have access to appropriate care forget about the problems in Syria and Aphganistan and lets concentrate on the biggest issue of the day i.e introducing fixed recoverable costs.The man is beyond parody with the like of Donald Trump.You could not make it up.
To top it all he has the gall to set out his own calculation of fixed costs by plucking figures out of the air(presumably) and then blithely adds minus disbursements so presumably any experts can charge what they like oh and the courts too.
Not only that he then has the brass neck to say to apply the regime to claims over £200k would be too great a change for the profession to accept!!!!What he means is the City boys would be hopping mad and he would become persona non grata.Nothing about fixed costs for counsels fees.Quel surprise!
