Richard Smith, I challenge your claim that lawyers are out of step on the delivery of value. Have you looked at the cost of even moderately difficult treatment in hospital by the NHS, or the advice and negotiating skills of surveyors in compulsory purchase cases, to name but two examples? Everything which requires the time of skilled professionals has become very expensive. The only way to make it cheaper is to make it simpler.
