Laurence is obviously right and claimant lawyers falling over themselves to throw the same old banal turkey/Christmas/chicken/roosting analogies are pathetic. The idea that defendant lawyers have been unwittingly crusading for their own redundancy is so condescending. As if a defendant lawyer had never stopped for one moment and thought that we needed claims to fight. As if highly intelligent senior partners are sitting there in a board room, like George W Bush at that kids' book reading when a man in a suit walks up to them and whispers in their ear "We have just realised that no claims is bad for our business" and their face drops like Bush's. Is that really what some claimant lawyers think? That Defendant lawyers are being surprised? Get a grip.
