Craig, I think I would prefer to be without a job in the law, but living in North Lancashire, than a galley slave in the City. Are there any Law Centres near you who might give you a training contract?

But, hang on a sec., do you really want to be a solicitor? I know plenty who wish they had never seen the inside of this profession. I told my children that I would not support them if they went that way. I did not want their saying to me in a few years' time, "Why didn't you warn me, Dad?" It is no longer like Eastbourne in the 1970s. I know far more who want to get out than I do who want to get in.
