Thanks for that one, Tom. You are right, I am unable to say that the 17P/litre is EU dictated. Perhaps i should go further and say that it was mentioned at the trustee meeting today that a neighbouring farmer was getting 34P/litre from Tesco which tends to suggest that the price is not EU dictated.

But ENFIN! We have a deal, yes we have a DEAL. Now the fun starts, But I do wish we could import some of those Australian RL players before our doors are finally closed on them. And this seems especially hard given that country's contribution in men and materials 1914-18 and 1939-45 was second to none. The battle of Fromelles 19 July, 1916, should never be forgotten.

I seem to remember listening to a Radio 4 item some 20 years ago when a teenager was recounting how he and his father were taking their new fishing trawler to a place in Denmark to be broken up. And the excess cod which are caught have to be thrown back, even though already dead. Perhaps you can confirm that these two stories sound about right. If so, is our CFP not as bonkers as the CAP? The small fishing fleet based near here in Conwy was certainly destroyed by it.

Thanks for your interesting and well informed contributions and I hope you enjoy your week-end, too. Loads of RL and, I fear, EU to get stuck into at least.
