True, David. And in the spirit you inculcate, let me say that since my last post I've become aware that Mr Appleby is (or was) a highly respected academic at the University of the West of England. So, my sincere apologies if I seemed to cast any doubt on his qualifications. I still think however that his historical analysis was inaccurate.
