Good post, Anon 10.01. On another tack, does this have a message about all legal practices and their values? I know of a firm the owners' of which were prepared to give it away to anyone who would give them an indemnity against their having to pay run-off, or should that be run-away, premiums. Mind you, a decent set of accounts might have helped.

But thinking positively, should we not be asking "What went wrong?" and suggesting ways of putting that right? I for one would tentatively suggest, starting back in 1973, the abolition of scale fees for conveyancing and mortgage work, the abolition of the rule against advertising, compulsory PII 1875, the Financial Services Act 1986, the Legal Services Act 2006 and ABSs. That's just for starters...

Good luck to all S&G, well all the PBI who had no say in this debacle anyway.
