Reducing the fee earning headcount will only succeed if some of the existing people are under-employed and doing fixed fee work.

If they are on time based cases giving a fee earner twice as many files doesn't produce twice the fees - in fact you'll probably get a log jam.

I feel desperately sorry for everybody as I suspect there isn't a viable long term solution because of the overwhelming Quindell debt.
