What will really count is what the client wants from his advisors. Some clients will want to be assured of the best standard their money can buy and so if for them a good quality degree demonstrates the intellectual ability their work demands then so be it. They are not interested in the SRA
Those who covet the title of solicitor without the rigour such a degree demonstrates will simply feed their own ego - clients with lower expectations may be suitably impressed - just as police station representatives like being called "brief" or "solicitor" and some clients in a police station are not concerned because their knowledge of the law and procedure is often greater than all those around them anyway.
